NEWSPAPER

Tied with a
string or put in brown paper bags.
Acceptable
Newspapers, advertising supplements. (NOTE: Supplements that come in the
newspapers can stay with the newspapers)
Not Acceptable with
newspapers
Magazines, Catalogs, Phone books, Junk mail, Envelopes, Books and Cereal
boxes.
CARDBOARD
-Cut, flatten & stack boxes. (No larger than 3 foot square)
Acceptable
Boxes with staples, Brown paper sacks, Chipboard: examples- cereal &
tissue boxes make sure and remove all liners & stack with string
Not Acceptable with
cardboard
Wax coated cardboard,
Feed/seed sacks and anything with food scraps.
MAGAZINES
– Only slick or shiny magazines & catalogs accepted. Tied with string or
put in brown paper sacks.
Acceptable
Time, Newsweek, National Geographic. Slick catalogs, etc….
Not Acceptable with
Magazines
TV guide, Books, Tabloids, Phone books, Readers Digest.

GLASS, BOTTLES AND
JARS
Food & beverage containers only. These bottles & jars much be rinsed &
lids removed. (Metal lids can go with the time cans.) Place clear or
green glass in recycling container.
Acceptable
Soda bottles, Beer bottles, Juice containers, Ketchup bottles, Wine and
liquor bottles and food containers.
Not Acceptable with
Glass Bottles & Jars
Drinking glasses,
Window glass, Light bulbs, Mirrors, Crystal ovenware, Ceramic cups &
plates, Clay flower pots and Heat resistant/Pyrex
OFFICE PAPER
-
Can be tied with string or put in brown paper bags.
Acceptable
Computer paper, Typing paper, Writing paper, Photocopy paper, Envelopes,
Colored paper, File folders and Unwanted residential mail.
Not Acceptable with
Office Paper
Newspapers, Cardboard, Magazines, Books, Carbon paper, Blueprint paper,
Film, Photographs, Tape and Glue and any other sensitized paper, Metal
objects, Spiral binders or Fasteners.

PLASTICS, BOTTLES AND JUGS
(Remove
lids, rinse &crush containers)
Check the bottom of the containers for the recycling logo. Inside the
logo is a number identifying the type of plastic. Plastics accepted for
recycling are types 1 through 7.
All

Acceptable
Food containers, Shampoo bottles, Milk jugs, Butter containers,
Detergent bottles, Bleach jugs, Juice jugs, Yogurt containers, High
density polyethylene bottles and jars with seams across the bottom.
Not Acceptable
Motor oil containers or batteries.
METAL CANS
– All tin & aluminum area acceptable. Rinse and remove labels & crush.
Clean aluminum foil is also acceptable
