CITY GOVERNMENT—The City Council meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:30 at the Civic Center. The mayor is Dan Wilson; council members are Mark Huston, Phil Kaalberg, Hal Prior, Pat Rees and Bernabe Rodriguez. Minutes of City Council meetings are listed below. CITY HALL—The Columbus Junction City Hall is located at 232 2nd Street in Columbus Junction. The hours are from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The phone number is (319) 728-7971. City Hall handles sewer and water hook-ups, garbage and recycling tags, and building permits.

 
LAW ENFORCEMENT—Columbus Junction has three full-time police officers and three volunteer reserve officers. Columbus City and Fredonia are part of the Louisa County Unified Law Enforcement (ULE) system dispatched through the sheriff’s office in Wapello. The Columbus Junction police stations number is (319) 728-2421.
 
MUNICIPAL SERVICES—Water and sewer hookups are required in Columbus Junction. Information and billing is handled through City Hall. City water is tapped from the Jordon aquifer and treated with a Zeolite softening system and fluoride is added at the water treatment plant. Columbus Junction furnishes water to Columbus City.
 
POST OFFICE—The Columbus Junction Post Office is located on the corner of Second and Walnut Streets, and may be reached at (319) 728-2512. Window hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturdays.
 

LOUISA COUNTY COURTHOUSE—The Louisa County Courthouse is located at 117 South Main Street in Wapello.
